Detailed Help To Add A New Service Provider

These instructions assume you are using a Windows PC with Internet Explorer or Firefox, but the general process is simple enough that it should work with all operating systems and browsers. It is not necessary to have an account with the Hotspot service.

Before you Begin

First check whether we already support this provider.  You can go into your Easy WiFi Account and search for the providers we already support with "Add a Hotspot Account".  If you're not sure, ask in the forum.

Getting Started

  1. Travel to a location covered by the Hotspot service, and connect to the network.
  2. Record the Network Name or SSID that you have connected to.  Note: It is important that this be copied down exactly as displayed on your computer, including capitalization and punctuation.
  3. Open your web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer or Firefox) and start browsing.
  4. If you are able to browse normally, either this is a Hotspot that does not require login support, or you are already logged in to the service. If you are already logged in, please logout or try again later after the Hotspot service logs you out.
  5. If you see the Hotspot service's login page, and it includes text boxes to enter a username and password, please proceed to the Login Page section further below.
  6. If you see the Hotspot service's welcome page, and you must click a button to login, please proceed to the Welcome Page section directly below.

Welcome Page

  1. Make a note that this Hotspot has a welcome page.
  2. Under the File menu, choose Save As... (Internet Explorer) or Save Page As... (Firefox).
  3. In the Save dialog box that appears, for the Save as type, select Web Page, HTML only.
  4. Save the web page to a location you will remember, such as Desktop or My Documents, and a File name you will remember, such as "welcome".
  5. Click on the Hotspot provider's continue button (or whatever their instructions are to proceed).
  6. If you are successfully logged in at this point, please proceed to the Additional Information section further below.
  7. If you see the Hotspot service's login page, and it includes text boxes for you to enter your username and password, please proceed to the Login Page section further below.

Additional Information

The following additional information is not essential, but very helpful:

  1. Please record the name of the Hotspot service provider as it will appear in our listings, for example "T-Mobile" or "Google WiFi".
  2. Please record the URL for the home page of the Hotspot service provider.
  3. Please record the URL for the support page of the Hotspot service provider.

Submit Information to Us

  1. Connect your computer to the Internet - you can do this by logging in to the Hotspot with your browser (if you have an account, or if it does not require an account), or by waiting until you have a full Internet connection later.
  2. Browse to the New Provider page.
  3. Fill out the form with the information you have recorded and the web pages you have saved.

A Devicescape Engineer will review the information you have submitted and add support for that Hotspot service as soon as possible. Because some Hotspot services are more complicated than others, it may take some time to deploy the necessary service and software updates.

Thank you for helping to expand the service providers that Easy WiFi supports!
